Trump Slams Charlamagne tha God After Epstein Comments on Lara Trump’s Show

Date:

Former President Donald Trump took aim at radio host Charlamagne tha God in a fiery post on Truth Social after the talk show personality appeared on Lara Trump’s Fox News program and made provocative claims about the Epstein scandal and its potential impact on the Republican Party.

Charlamagne, whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey, appeared on “My View with Lara Trump” over the weekend and said he believes traditional conservatives are poised to reclaim control of the GOP, suggesting the ongoing controversy around Jeffrey Epstein could be a tipping point.

“I think this Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back,” Charlamagne said on the show. “The MAGA base isn’t letting this issue go, and for the first time, they know they can probably take the party back and not piss off the MAGA base.”

Charlamagne also criticized Trump’s record, calling him a “once-in-a-lifetime political juggernaut” but argued that Americans are still struggling economically under his leadership. He expressed openness to supporting other Republicans, naming former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley as a potential alternative.

Trump, however, did not take kindly to the remarks. Early Sunday morning, he lashed out on Truth Social, attacking Charlamagne personally.

“The very wonderful and talented Lara Trump, whose show is a big ratings success, put racist sleazebag Charlamagne ‘The God’ on,” Trump wrote. “Why is he allowed to use the word ‘GOD’ when describing himself?”

He continued: “He’s a Low IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth, and knows nothing about me or what I have done – like just ending 5 Wars, including a 31-year bloodbath between Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.”

Though Trump did not specifically mention which part of Charlamagne’s commentary triggered the outburst, it followed recent tension within the MAGA movement over the Justice Department’s handling of Epstein-related documents. A July 6 DOJ and FBI memo concluded that Epstein died by suicide and dismissed rumors of an “incriminating client list” — a finding that outraged parts of Trump’s base.

Trump previously blamed Democrats for fueling the Epstein controversy, which he has labeled the “Epstein Hoax,” and criticized elements of the MAGA movement for fixating on it.

Charlamagne’s suggestion that the Epstein issue could be used as leverage by traditional conservatives to reclaim the GOP appears to have struck a nerve, prompting the former president’s strongly worded rebuke.
