n a recent update, 115 roads have been closed on the Himachal Pradesh route after the hill state experienced heavy rains. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued an orange alert for Himachal Pradesh after the rainfall. The Shimla meteorological office issued this alert which is effective until Friday.
The warning of heavy to very heavy rains, along with thunderstorms, and lightning in isolated areas has been released. When it comes to road closure, the most affected is Mandi with 107 road closures. While four roads have been shut in Chamba, three have been closed in Solan. One road has been closed in Kangra district too.
The more worrisome situation is that a part of the Chandigarh-Manali four-lane road between Mandi and Pandoh has developed some cracks. It has also started to sink, prompting one-way traffic since Wednesday. Locals are also quite vocal about the quality of construction for a recently built retaining wall. Project Manager Raj Shekar has assured that urgent repairs are underway at the site

Temperature variations have also been notable, with Narkanda in Shimla district recording the lowest night temperature at 13.4 degrees Celsius, while Bhuntar in Kullu recorded the highest daytime temperature at 35.6 degrees Celsius.
